Catechists of the Catholic Church in Corsica with Blessed Eugénie Joubert on this first day of the school year, September 12, 2026!

Invited to speak about the woman whom Saint John Paul II held up as a model for catechists, Fatima Lucarini and François Vayne—representing “The Friends of Blessed Eugénie Joubert”—gave a magnificent testimony. Following their presentation and a discussion with the participants, a time of prayer allowed everyone to venerate the relics of the Blessed, before the Mass that concluded this intense day, presided over by Cardinal François Bustillo.

Delighted that the witness of Blessed Eugénie Joubert is being increasingly embraced by the universal Church in view of her canonization, we share this prayer from the Corsican catechists addressed to the Lord:

“Make us catechists who do not merely speak of You, but who enable children to encounter You. Give us a heart that listens, words that encourage, a gaze that welcomes, and a joy that bears witness to Your love.”
