Magnificat dedicates its July issue, through the Saint of the Month feature, to Blessed Eugénie Joubert.

Guillaume Vanier, a theology graduate and bookseller at La Procure, invites us in a captivating way to listen to Eugénie, both a “catechist of fire” and the “little Thérèse of Belgium,” who gave her all “in her mission to pass on the faith to the poorest.”

We are reminded of how Pope Saint John Paul II had summed up, in a single sentence, both the spirituality she lived and the mission of a catechist that inspired her: “The kingdom of Christ can begin in the heart of a child.” (pp. 3–5).
